It isn't open yet, still new. -But I wanted to get a head start for once instead of waiting 'till the last minute!
It's hard writing a history for a legendary, hope this is good enough, haha. I'm quite happy with it.

Species: #249 Lugia ルギア

Habitat: Whirl Islands / the Orange Islands. She spends most of her time now in amongst the Whirl Islands in Johto, A long long time ago she used to live in the Orange Islands near Shamouti Island.

History:
_{Lugia, A Pokemon with the incredible ability to calm raging storms. It is said that a flap of it's massive wings could start a 40-day storm.. a light fluttering of them being able to easily blow apart common human houses. Aware of it's incredible power, these Legendary Pokemon choose to live deep underwater away from others.
Very little is known about Lyrica's early life. To be honest, she barely remembers herself. It could be assumed that most legendary Pokemon just.. "came to be". -Or were born in fantastical ways like coming to earth on a comet, being cloned from another Pokemon or even being formed as an egg by Arceus himself. Lyrica, however was not born in a way like this, as her species is one of the very very select few legendary species of Pokemon that can actually produce offspring. Carrying on; Lyrica was born long ago to a single Lugia parent amongst the seas around the Orange islands. She stayed with her mother for most of her early life, swimming deep under water through trenches and never once coming very close to the water's surface. She was curious about life outside the water, but never pursued her curiosity as her mother was very protective of her.
One particular day though, that she can still recall, the waters' currents were off, the ocean was a mess, a massive storm seemed to be tearing apart the world above. At this point in the world's life, weather and nature dominated the earth so it wasn't rare for massive storms or floods or even droughts to happen to certain regions.Little Lyrica had no idea what was going on at the time, but her mother seemed to know what to do. The older Lugia swam up and up towards the water's surface, with Lyrica close behind. Out of the water the Pokemon went until she had reached the sky above and then, with a massive flap of her wings, she dissipated the tropical hurricane before Lyrica's eyes.
At that time, the beginnings of humans lived on land, and on the islands around Lyrica's ocean home. They praised and honored her Lugia mother like a god for destroying the storm and 'protecting' them from nature. The primitive humans even had a celebration on that day with food and melodic sounds so loud and beautiful that they even echoed down into the deep trenches where Lyrica and her mother lived. On that same day, every year, the people on the island above would have a festival in honor of Lugia, the "great guardian of the sea" an they would play the same songs and eat the same foods and give thanks to Lugia. Lyrica loved it and after years of hearing it, she came to love the songs she would hear and she would even sing them herself.
Eventually she grew old enough to live on her own and her mother left her to find a new home in other waters probably far away from the Orange Islands. Lyrica didn't move on though and chose to stay in her birthplace, she loved the islands and the humans, their festivals and especially their music. She only got to see the world above the waters' surface once a year, during the yearly festival in honor of her species.. Though every year she came up for the festival, she would notice little changes in the humans and in the world above.
Slowly as time went on, it seemed that the humans grew.. smarter and smarter. The festival every year started to seem less and less about Lugia and more about eating and just being another time to vacation and party for the humans. One year even, the last year Lyrica showed up at all, a human had even tried to capture her. It scared her a lot, what the humans were becoming. Ontop of pushing her and other Pokemon away, they were pushing away their traditions and the true meanings behind them, and were slowly tainting their islands with machines, pollution and over time; over-population. It became harder for Lyrica to keep herself hidden as the area around her grew smaller and she grew bigger, she also grew bored and sometimes even felt lonely. It was then that she decided she too would leave the Orange Islands, just as her mother had done so many years before. -And soo she swam for many days until she reached a series of deep underwater caves, far away from the Orange Islands in an entirely different region. They were barren, except for the wild aquatic Pokemon that lived there. It seemed like the ideal place for Lyrica to stay. The smarter humans would never find her here and she had enough space to herself to do whatever she liked. She even used her inherited power of causing gales to protect her new home with dangerous whirlpools that virtually nothing except herself could pass through.
Many Pokedex entries these days will say that Lugia "Sleeps at the bottom of a deep sea trench because its powers are too strong." This is true in Lyrica's case, she grew to spend so much time by herself that she would mostly just sleep. All seemed peaceful and boring untill the day that humans figured out ways to pass through her whirlpools. Humans were just getting too smart, too nosey and curious. The species she used to love so much had come to irritate her and when she was found this time by humans, she fled immediately into the ocean again. Was there any place she could hide where humans WOULDN'T try to probe and explore? She was just too big too hide properly and too powerful to be amongst humans and land-dwelling Pokemon. As she swam deep through the underwater trenches, thinking of where to go next, she was almost swarmed in a huge school of Phione passing through the same trench in a ridiculous hurry. When she asked them where they were off to in such a hurry, a young Phione simply replied, "To the new paradise that Lord Arceus has made just for us! You should follow along too!"}



Summary characteristic: Often dozes off.

Hobbies:
-Sleeping. She dozes off pretty easy if left alone too long.
-Playing the Ocarina. As big and klutzy as she seems, she can somehow manage to play an Ocarina with those big stupid feathery fingers.
-Singing. It's something she rarely does, but she's pretty good at it. I mean if you like stuff that sounds like orcas.
-She will sometimes try to do.. visual art. She's not very good at it at all. I mean look at the size of her.
-Swimming, definitely. Though pools are way too teenie for her tastes.
-If it counts, she actually made her ocarinas.

Moveset:
Aeroblast-_{A vortex of air is shot at the target to inflict damage. Critical hits land more easily.}
Dive-_{Diving on the first turn, the user floats up and attacks on the second turn. It can be used to dive deep in the ocean.}
Extrasensory-_{The user attacks with an odd, unseeable power. It may also make the target flinch.}
Rest-_{The user goes to sleep for two turns. It fully restores the user’s HP and heals any status problem.}



Extras/Fun Facts:
- Her birth date was the premiere date of Revelation Lugia/Pokemon the Movie 2000 in Japanese theatres

-She actually has a couple different types of ocarinas!
-She mostly likes instrumental music. (Not to say she doesnt like other kinds though)
-She is pretty ditzy. She spaces out frequently.
-In a sense, she is also a bit naive, especially about things outside of the water.
-To be honest, she doesn't even know there's any other Pokemon like her. (like, she doesnt know there are other 'legendary' Pokemon other than her, her mother and the Phione and maaaaybe Arceus.)
-She speaks very slowly and almost sounds sleepy all the time.
-As you could probably gather, she is VERY tall/big.
-Her favorite foods are tropical fruits!
-She loves small Pokemon. -Though to be fair most all Pokemon are 'small' to her.
-Her mind wanders a lot. She can get a bit.. 'imaginative' with things..
